Iceland Ring Road trip in 6 days


Day 1:
We landed in Keflavik International Airport  at 1:30 PM. After picking up our rental car, we drove 40 mins to our hotel in Reykjavik (Reykjavik Lights by Keahotels). The evening was reserved for the city tour.

Reykjavik is the capital and largest city in Iceland. It is a beautiful city with colorful houses.

Even on a overcast day the colors of the houses looked bright and cheerful.


Hallgrímskirkja, the church of Iceland, is one of the most famous landmark in Reykjavik. It is also the tallest structure in Iceland. You can go up the tower (Ticket: ISK 900) to get a panoramic view of the city.


Solfar, Sun Voyager, is a sculpture placed on the side of the road right next to the bay. I am not sure about the significance of this sculpture but it is a good photo spot.


Harpa Concert Hall

If you have time, you can catch the guided tour of the concert hall or one of the many events that happen there. Harpa Concert hall is just a little distance walk from the Sun Voyager.
